Premantura is a picturesque place with 450 residents, located in Istria's far south, which was already settled during the Bronze age. The remains of rustic villas are evidence of the ancient Roman's wise selection of Premantura as an ideal living space. A beautiful statue of Minerva was also found here, today stored in the Museum of Archaeology in Pula.
The long, narrow penninsula of Kamenjak gives Premantrura its most recognizable characteristic. This peninsula is 9,5km long and as wide as 1,5km, and stretches into the Adriatic Sea like a long arm. Kamenjak encircles a 30km coast line dotted with numerous inlets and miniature beaches and this primeval beauty is augmented by small islands which arise from the crystalline blue-green sea.
